UPDATE 30 APRIL 2021 – Allan has now presented a cheque for £2,000 to Warwick Hospital.
He thanks all those people who bought the book.

The Hospital announced –

“A big thank you to Allan Jennings for coming in today with a cheque for an amazing £2,000 for our Intensive Care Unit, raised with proceeds of a book which he has produced.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Allan for thinking of our charity, and urge you all to check out his brilliant book!”

Local historian and member of Leamington History Group, Allan Jennings, has been inspired to put together a book of 114 coloured photographic ‘sketches’ as a way of raising money for the Intensive Care Unit at Warwick Hospital to recognise their efforts in helping people with Covid-19.

Allan has used his skills and parts of the many abilities of technology to turn some of his vast collection of photographs into coloured digital ‘sketches’ of Royal Leamington Spa and the surrounding area. He has added text to most of the images to tell a little of their stories.

Allan is now selling the book of these ‘sketches’ and he will donate all the profits to the ICU at Warwick Hospital. He explains more about this project in the short video below.

Allan wishes to record that Warwick Printing on Sydenham and Waterstones bookshop on Warwick Street have both made donations to support the production of the book.

The book is now on sale at Waterstones for £15.
