SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 26th September 2020:
Virtual Leamington History Day

Sadly our usual History Day will not take place this year.  In its place we are delighted to invite you to what we believe will be an exciting Virtual Leamington History Day on Saturday, 26th September 2020; so please put this date in your diary!  We plan at least three different aspects to the day.

Local History Presentations.  Currently, we are inviting speakers from our local history groups to get involved and there has been a terrific response, with at least 8 presentations promised so far.   There will be the opportunity to watch short presentations on local history from our usual eminent speakers throughout the day, from the comfort of your laptop or ipad!

Jacqui Kirk also has something up her sleeve to offer some fab interactive genealogy help sessions online!

If you haven’t got a computer, then please get together with some friends and join us for this special celebration of Leamington History.

4 p.m. Afternoon Tea, Cake and Quiz.  Please ask your friends and family around to join you for afternoon tea and cake at 4 p.m. when our quizmaster, Mr Barry Franklin, will be testing us out on our knowledge of local history, in the comfort of your own home.

Self-Guided Themed Walks.  In the morning, we hope to be putting a couple of Self-Guided Themed Walks for a leisurely walk around Leamington to explore more of its history. Watch this space!

Further details to follow when the programme is finalised.  Really hope you can join us!

Please get in touch if you would like to participate with a local history presentation or for more information about the Leamington History Group – Please  Contact the Secretary, Margaret Rushton:

We will ask for the Presentations to be an MP4 file. Many people find it simplest to produce this using Powerpoint to prepare a slide show and a commentary.  We should be able to help if there is some difficulty.  There are several videos on YouTube which provide guidance on producing these videos.
